The 1976 Montreal Olympic Games was the moment she made history as the first athlete to achieve a perfect ten at asymmetric bars. Then she scored an additional six perfect 10, which made her the youngest Olympic overall gold medalist who was just 14. The Romanian gymnast did not only draw attention from all directions however, she also assisted in helping Romania get its place on the global map. Achieving an unachievable mark in the sport, she became a sporting legend. Gymnastics gained a lot of attention around the globe. It also changed public perception of female gymnasts. Because of the effect she made during the Olympics and the toe-on moves (toes toes) and the release (release move) that were classified as a difficult level and have her name on them. She also performed well at World Championships, European Championships as well as the Olympics. That has made her famous, and she is one of the best gymnasts across the world. In the US she tried to promote the sport and fashion industry after leaving her native country.
