April Ross

April Ross, a beach volleyball player in the US she is part of the elite number of women who had medals won in multiple Olympics. In Tokyo in the coming days, she'll try to claim her third Olympic medal together with fellow first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross is determined to earn more than her first Olympic medal. As she turns 39, it could be Ross' final chance to win an Olympic gold. However, she remains optimistic that the most important medals are within reach. If we play our best and even perform properly, I'm sure we'll be able to win that gold medal Ross spoke of via NBC Boston. And, I'm also going try to be a little chance. Ross Born in 1982, and lived in Costa Mesa California with her mother and sister, first began playing sports at the Newport Harbor High school. She went on to compete across a variety of activities at Newport Harbor High School. Along with the indoor game, she played basketball and jogged track as an athlete in the pre-professional stage. When she played in the final sport she stood out. In her time at high school, she was a middle blocker, outside hitter and setter on the volleyball court, according to her college bio. In recognition of her work she was honoured as the 1999 Gatorade Circle of Champions National Player of the Year. Her skills in volleyball earned her the Orange County Athlete of the Awards in 2000. Ross Klineman joined her collaboration in the year 2017, however, Ross was an established athlete on the beach for a long time before. Her name has appeared in major competitions with a variety of partners. In one of the tournaments, she is an iconic player in the volleyball world. In 2007 through 2013, she was teaming with Jennifer Kessy, who is now her coach. Together together with Kessy Ross, the duo won an Olympic Title in 2009 as she raced on the international circuit. The duo were awarded silver medals at the London Olympics. They were knocked out of the gold by the legendary duo comprising Misty and Kerri Walsh (Jennings). Ross Jennings became Walsh Jennings partner in fate when Maytreanor decided to retire. The pair went on to take home the bronze medal for beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics in 2016. Following high school, and for a few years before she hit the beach as a professional Ross played to the USC Trojans in her first season as university. Her time in the Trojans' ranks was one to remember. When she was a freshman at the school in 2000 she earned Pac-10 and NCAA freshman of the year awards and earned an All-American. Additionally, she assisted her Trojans reach the Final Four. She suffered a devastating personal loss in her sophomore year and yet she came back her place as an All-American. Through her final two years in the program she led the Trojans to the top of the hill, capturing consecutive national championships. She was a great volleyball player. She won the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the college's top female volleyball player. Ross studied International Relations at USC. Sadly, Ross mother Margie never got to see her daughter rise to the top levels of beach volleyball fame. In 2001 when Ross was in her sophomore year at USC her mother died of breast cancer. Yet, she is able to hold her lost parent near and close. Also, Margie is an ongoing source of encouragement for her at the beach and in her daily life.
